Southwestern Community Action Council is a private non-profit agency whose mission is to facilitate the social and economic well-being of low-income families in Cabell, Lincoln, Mason, and Wayne counties in West Virginia. We are a leader in the development and provision of a variety of community programs and services provided by qualified, highly trained, client focused staff. Our programs include Early Head Start / Head Start, Community Services Block Grant, Mason County Homeless Services, Weatherization Assistance, Case Management / Homemaker Services, Senior Community Services (Mature Worker), Utility Assistance, Income Tax Preparation, and Veteran Supportive Services.
We currently have an opening for a Caregiver (Homemaker) for our Case Management / Homemaker Services program in Mason County, WV to join our team and achieve great things together.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or state ID.
- Must have the ability to work well with people and have the ability to carry out job duties with little direct supervision.
- Must have the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Must have successful results from a background check and drug screen.
Position Details (This is a sampling of duties and responsibilities of this position. Other duties may be assigned)
· Works closely with RN Case Manager in all aspects of the job.
· Follow Individual Plan of Care and carry out planned duties as described (assist with personal care, housekeeping, laundry, feeding, meal preparation, toileting, etc.).
· Attend all required homemaker training as scheduled to complete and update homemaker skills.
· Maintain good working relations with the Homemaker Agency staff members, clients, and families.
· Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPPA regulations.
· Turn in all required paperwork on time (at the beginning of the month for the previous month’s activities).
· Works all scheduled visits.
· Report any changes (personal appointments, emergencies, etc) to the client schedule to the Homemaker Supervisors ahead of time.
· Represent SCAC in a positive manner in all aspects of job related activities.

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
- meal preparation: 1 year (Preferred)
- housekeeping: 1 year (Preferred)
- Personal care home: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
