Statement of Primary Purpose
Responsible for ensuring instructional excellence for all assigned courses in accordance with college policies and the mission of the North Carolina Community College System.
Classification
Curriculum faculty, full-time, exempt
Reporting Relationships
Direct Supervision : Dean of Career Technologies Division
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Teaching Performance
- Teach assigned course load consistent with College workload policy.
- Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize documented student learning.
- Ensure course content is up-to-date, relevant, accurate, and consistent with state and national accreditation standards.
- Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students. Stay current in the subject matter through professional development, professional organizations, and professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.
- Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience.
- Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs. Facilitate the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.
- Contribute to the selection, development of instructional materials to meet course objectives. Develop, update, and share course syllabi in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation of professional development and continuing education.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Masters Business Administration (MBA) or related field
Knowledge and Skills
Broad knowledge of core business concepts including an understanding of the fundamental roles of management, finance, accounting, marketing, information systems, and communication in effective organizations. Experience using LMS such as Moodle.
Physical Demands
Ability to teach seat-based, hyflex and online courses in a multi-location campus environment
Working Conditions and Environment
Involves working with the adult learners to motivate and engage them in the learning process. Adaptability & flexibility required.
Equipment Operation
Proficient in use of office software applications.
