ANNOUNCEMENT Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Coordinator of Success Coaching.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Coordinator of Success Coaching will facilitate the college’s Success Coaching program to identify and engage students with the goal of assisting them in a holistic intervention to complete their program and degree goals. The Coordinator will also implement outreach initiatives and campaigns such as first year experience programming, including administering new student orientation, to assist students with the transition into higher education. Programming will focus on student engagement, retention, persistence and completion. This position interacts with students, staff, administration, faculty and the general public-at-large while working with information of a confidential nature. The duties involve complex work methods and problem solving. This position will assist the Coordinator of Success Program with instructional support programs such as tutor training. This position will also directly supervise success coaches. This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in education, student development or related field required.
2. Two (2) years' experience with tutoring, teaching, student success programs, first year experience programming and/or similar educational experience required.
3. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
4. Ability to communicate effectively and positively with a diverse student population required.
5. Ability to build relationships, work independently and utilize strong communication skills.
6. Ability to tutor developmental mathematics, reading and writing preferred.
7. Knowledge of computer applications, software packages and the Internet required.
8. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
SALARY: Salary Grade 2 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $44,691-$55,841 per year.
