TRAK Machine Tools (TMT) is a manufacturer of CNC controls and CNC machine tools for R & D, tooling, and low-volume machining applications. We integrate our CNC controls with machine tools and sell the finished products as turnkey systems under the respected brand names of TRAK and ProtoTRAK. We sell directly to users in much of the United States, with distributor sales in other parts of North America and Europe.
Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to lead new product introduction (NPI) projects from engineering to machine shop manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the transition of new products into production, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Additionally, this role involves working on various manufacturing engineering topics beyond NPI.
Key Responsibilities :
- New Product Introduction (NPI) : Manage and coordinate all activities related to the introduction of new products, from initial engineering design through to machine shop manufacturing.
- Process Development : Develop and implement both new and existing manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality standards.
- Programming and Tooling : Oversee the programming of machined parts, design of fixtures, and selection of tooling. Ensure proper documentation of these items.
- Inspection and Measurement : Define part inspection criteria, measurement equipment requirements, and material sizes for NPI projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, design, production, and quality teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Project Management : Plan, execute, and oversee NPI projects from engineering to machine shop manufacturing, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Supplier Coordination : Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and components necessary for new product manufacturing.
- Quality Assurance : Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure new products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Documentation : Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including process flows, work instructions, and quality records.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Manufacturing Engineering : Address various manufacturing engineering topics not related to NPI, contributing to overall operational excellence.
- Reporting : Prepare and present reports on NPI project status, performance metrics, and any issues to senior management.
