Description
Position Summary:
The certified surgical technologist functions as a member of the sterile team, creating and maintaining a sterile field, supplying the surgeon with needed instruments and supplies in accordance with hospital established policies and procedures. Performs decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of instruments and equipment for the facility. Assists in transportation and nursing care of surgical patients, as well as assisting with and assuming general departmental duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
· BLS
· Certified Surgical Technician License required
Education/Experience:
· High school graduate or equivalent
· Graduate of a school of surgical technology required
· Maintains education and development appropriate for position
· 1 year of Surgical Technician experience required
