Job Responsibilities

• The RN in OB provides direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center
• Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within the scope of practice of a RN according to the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act
• Participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care

Education

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact
• BLS
• NIH Stroke (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
• AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring (or equivalent) Annually (and/or by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Biannually (and/or within 6 months of hire)
• Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
• Quality Indicators Testing Annually (and obtains within 6mo of hire)
