Job Title: Biological & Biomedical Sciences Administrative Assistant I
The primary duties of the Administrative Assistant include greeting and assisting departmental walk-in and telephone visitors. The role acts as a resource for the Biological & Biomedical Sciences department, building effective working relationships to enhance department operations and functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support services to the department in a professional, cordial, and efficient manner, assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Perform routine office duties and functions, including purchase orders, travel requests, and other business-related activities.
• Work with the Chair to ensure that department equipment is maintained, communicating with service contract providers to maintain equipment.
• Collaborate with the Chair on curriculum planning, course scheduling, special projects, and activities related to the department.
• Support recruitment and retention efforts, embracing enrollment strategies.
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and protocols.
Requirements:
• One year of experience as a secretary or equivalent experience/education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of office management, bookkeeping, record keeping, and data management.
