Leadership and Planning (45% of Time)Oversees academic advising, placement, transferring, and professional testing for the College. Assign advisees to advisors; assign Faculty advisors.Responsible for supervision of professional advisors/testing proctors at Coos and Curry Campuses, including evaluating performance, and administering the disciplinary process when needed, responding to employee complaints, and effectively recommending various personnel actions Identify and recommend advising/testing staffing needs to supervisor, develop position descriptions, and participates in the hiring of qualified staff. Responsible for implementing student success and advisement strategies per the College’s vision, mission, and values in the pursuit of excellence and providing leadership for college advising teams, including coordination of department meetings, oversight of work groups, projects, and development of advising communication plan. Design, develop, implement, maintain and assess a holistic case managed service delivery model for student supportAct as a liaison between various departments and staff collaborating to implement advising strategies across campus and provide quality advising services to students.Builds and maintains collaborative and productive partnerships across Instruction, Student Services, Administrative Services, in order to integrate the planning and implementation of holistic, proactive, and seamless delivery of student services. Implements student guidance initiatives in support of a guided pathways operating model that results in continually improving outcomes for students. Functions in an advisory capacity to the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services on advising. Serves as a member of Academic Senate, College Council, and other institutional committees pertaining to advising. Serve on statewide groups and committees pertaining to advising.Ensures staff knowledge of, and institutional compliance with, federal/state/College regulations, policies and guidance related to advising, career and employment services.
