Job Summary:
Manage the daily operations of the Physician Practice/Group. Ensure the operations of the practice/group run smoothly, regular staff meetings are held between all departments and physicians, departmental policies and procedures are maintained and adhered to, and the budget is monitored. Oversee the retention of office and medical supplies, manage insurance and patient aging sheets, and handle patients within the office. Serve as the HIPAA coordinator, liaison between physician(s) and insurance companies, Finance, Human Resources, attorneys, third party administrators, and other key contacts
Essential Functions:
- Manages the operations of the assigned Physician Practice/Group. Provides leadership, direction and growth opportunities to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Hospital’s policies and applicable laws. Responsible for participating in interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, appraising performance, disciplining team members and resolving problems
- Maintains clinical competence of procedural skills, treatments, patient/caregiver education; serves as a patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care
- Coordinates with Medical Staff Services and other departments to attain and maintain licensure and third party payer credentialing documents
- Coordinates Practice/Group meetings on a regular basis; develops meeting agenda; ensure the physicians and/or office staff remain will informed
- Prepares internal operational reports
- Conducts weekly payment audit; balance payment batches; balances charge batches; and calculates receivables
- Ensures the adherence to Physician scheduling guidelines; manages the Physician(s) schedule; coordinate the Physician on-call schedule
- Manages the financial, human capital, planning, and operations of a Physician Practice/Group; ensures the Practice/Group is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations; hospital policies and procedures; and regulatory guidelines
- Receives and properly addresses complaints, concerns, and suggestions from patients, Physicians, and staff
- Collaborates with healthcare providers and leadership to ensure the highest standards are met to meet the clinical needs of patients
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration - Preferred
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in a high capacity healthcare environment supporting multiple Physicians
