Description
Coordinating the planning, implementation and on-going monitoring and evaluation of patients admitted to Southwestern Medical Center under the assigned service with the immediate supervision of a licensed physician. Responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to support and improve the quality of care provided to assigned patients across the continuum of care. The ideal candidate in this role generally focuses on female sexual and reproductive health, and pregnancy, and delivers primary health care to women from adolescence through childbearing to advanced age. This could include well-woman care, prenatal management, family planning, fertility, and urogynecology, as well as care for episodic or chronic illnesses and sexually transmitted diseases.
Work to ensure an efficient and cost-effective course of hospitalization and length of stay for a select group of patients. Matches human and material resources to patient/client needs. Coordinate care through communication and collaboration with patients, families, interdisciplinary team members and outside agencies. Serve as a resource and educator for other professionals, clerical staff, students and the community.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner master’s degree in pediatric advanced practice nursing or must demonstrate successful completion of a formal postgraduate NP track or program that meets state requirements.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
- Licensure as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
- Prescriptive Authority
- Current certification by the National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Associates or other
applicable certification
- MAB within 30 days of hire
- BCLS within 30 days of hire
