Assistant Mens & Womens Swimming & Diving Coach

Southwestern University seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Coach. This position will serve as the Assistant of the Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Coach program and provide outstanding leadership in support for Southwestern University students. This individual may potentially teach ESS or Fitness and Recreation Activities (FRA) program. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Primary Duties

• Provide skill instruction and conditioning work consistent with a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program.
• Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at Southwestern University.
• Participate in fundraising activities to support program objectives.
• Comply with all University, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and by laws.
• Mentor University students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.
• Support classroom excellence by utilizing all available University resources in support of students.
• Serve as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) of select University events.
• Participate on campus committees as requested.
• Instructor for ESS or FRA classes if qualified.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Demonstrate success in coaching or competing at a highly competitive level.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid or willing to become certified with three months of hire.
• Knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.
  
  

Preferred Position Requirement

• Knowledge and experience in Collegiate or professional playing in the sport.
• Knowledge and experience in recruiting college-level varsity athletes.

Starting annual salary: $33,198. The final offer for the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience and may exceed the starting salary.
