What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center?
SVMC is seeking a therapist to see patients in our outpatient department on the main hospital campus (Bennington, VT) with the possibility of coverage at one of our satellite facilities (Deerfield Valley in Wilmington, VT). A weekend fair turn commitment in our inpatient department is required. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional that is passionate about delivering quality care and making a real difference. In consultation with the referring provider, the Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, developing, implementing and documenting a plan of treatment for patients of all ages. In addition, this position has the opportunity to supervise physical therapist assistants and students.
Outpatient rehabilitation provides physical, occupational and speech therapy at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and SVMC’s satellite campuses across the region. The rehabilitation program services patients of all ages with many specialty rehab services available including but not limited to vestibular therapy, hand therapy and lymphedema therapy.
Requirements:
- BS or MS degree in PT from an accredited school required.
- DPT required for new grads.
- Prior physical therapy experience in an outpatient setting is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Vermont state license to practice PT required.
- Healthcare provider BLS within 90 days of hire and current CPR certification required.
