Performance Responsibilities:
1. Work under the direction of the special education teacher to provide direct physical care (i.e. toileting,
diapering, feeding and hygiene programs) and instruction for a designated child or children.
2. Collect data and implement behavior management program for designated children.
3. In accordance with Massachusetts Regulations, provide as necessary, physical restraint.
4. Provide inclusionary support in classroom.
5. Participate in Professional Development/training as needed.
6. Implement Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support (PBIS) plans for designated students.
7. Provide support services and accommodations as recommended by related services personnel, therapist
and consultants.
8. Provide home based services as requested by specialists (during school hours).
9. Provide direct support to students during community-based activities (i.e. shopping, swimming, bus
travel, banking etc.)
10. Provide support as a coach for students in STGRSD, community-based pre-vocational/vocational
programs or enrolled in the Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (ICEI) at area colleges.
11. Provide support to students requiring Assistive Technology to access the curriculum.
12. Review and implement modifications and accommodations documented in student’s IEP
13. Performs other duties as requested by Building Principal or Director of Special Education
