We are seeking a Long Term Substitute Custodian to join our night team. This is initially a temporary 3-6 month, with the ability to have a flexible evening schedule. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities.Performance Responsibilities1. Special assignments, assembly set up, gymnasium bleachers and discussions related tomanagement-based issues, including those related to quality of work, will be initiatedwith the day custodian at the start of each days shift.
Organize schedule of part-timecustodians to assist in assembly set-up, gymnasium bleachers, special events, etc. Assistwith snow removal. This may require morning, evening, and/or weekend work.2. DAILY: Sweeps all tiled floors, wet mop spills Vacuum all carpeted areas including entrance mats, hall mats, and classroom rugs Dust all window shelves, televisions, blinds, thermostats, and counter tops Clean and disinfect all classroom sinks daily.
Empty trash; replace can liner if soiled, wash trash can if dirty Dry mop all hallways and entrance areas. Use auto scrubberRevised: 4/27/16 Clean and disinfect all drinking fountains in assigned area Clean all lavatories as instructed Remove graffiti3. WEEKLY: Wet mop entire classroom(s) Clean all windows in assigned area4. BI-WEEKLY Burnish hallways5.
Empty recyclable bin in approved container for pick up as needed.6. Position requires mandatory overtime, as needed.7. Responsible for the security of the building. Each night you will be responsible forsecuring the building.
Report maintenance requests, (lights, heat, windows, etc), for thebuilding and equipment. Request will be made using the appropriate procedures.8. This position requires the use of cleaning chemicals, finish removers, floor machines, andwet/vac machines. Some chemicals have strong orders but are necessary and required forthe job.9.
Position requires the ability to lift heavy objects, shovel snow, spread sand and salt onsidewalks.10. Job requires the use of machinery (i.e. lawnmowers, weed whackers, snow blowers etc.)11. The hours of work for this shift will be 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm (unless overtime is needed)with two 15 minute breaks, (break time to be determined).
