Job GoalTo create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge, and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.Responsibilities & DutiesTeach woodworking techniques and skills to students of all ages and skill levelsDevelop and implement engaging and effective lesson plansProvide one-on-one instruction and support to students as neededEvaluate student progress and provide feedback to support their developmentStay current with new techniques, tools, and materials in the fieldEstablishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas. Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary. Maintains control of storage and use of school property.
Maintains professional competence through in-service education provided by the District, and in self-selected professional growth activities. Maintains required inventory records.Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.Participates in faculty meetings and the sponsorship of student activities.Any other related duties as may be assigned by the Principal.Physical Requirements: The position requires a frequent amount of walking, running, standing, sitting and climbing stairs and step stool whenever necessary. Activities also include frequent physical exertion in body movement such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 40 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 40 pounds occasionally.Environmental Conditions: The occupant is required to work indoors and outdoors.
The regular chemical solvents are toners and cleaning fluids.
