Overview:
As a Payroll Processor, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for teammates within the organization. Your primary duties will include calculating wages, verifying timekeeping records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and distributing employee pay accurately and on time. Additionally, you will handle inquiries related to payroll and maintain payroll records.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Calculate wages, deductions, commissions, and overtime accurately. Verify timekeeping records for accuracy on a regular schedule, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax withholding, garnishments, and other payroll-related laws and regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting, including employee information, hours worked, wages, and deductions.
- Communication: Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- System Maintenance: Utilize payroll software to process payroll and maintain employee records. Assist in the implementation and testing of payroll system upgrades or changes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience as a payroll processor or similar role.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Experience with Paylocity as a system is a plus.
- Certification in payroll processing (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
