Overview
Plan, manage and coordinate the team of residential supervisors to ensure adequate compliance with operational guidelines as well as develop supervisory team members to serve direct care staff in a way that is professional and to the programmatic standards expected.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate the work and activities of the supervisor team, including setting performance expectations and schedules in the day-to-day operations of the shift or unit.
- Monitor performance and provide feedback, coaching, mentoring and training for the supervisor team and direct care worker team.
- Respond to and manage emergencies. This position has an on call component that will require flexibility and availability to report to building within a schedule with peers.
- Position must be available for all three shifts in that direct observation, in vivo coaching and role modeling are among the requirements for this position.
- Provide staff management to including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation, in collaboration with the rest of the leadership team.
- Maintain communication and relationships between medical staff, other department staff and leadership team by attending meetings and coordinating interdepartmental functioning in support of the mission and goals of the organization.
- Perform day-to-day operational and administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- May, as determined by staffing or census needs, assist patient with their daily living activities, administer basic health care or treatments, participate in therapeutic or recreational group activities in the role of direct care or building supervisor.
- Monitor physical and emotional well-being of patient and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff. Prepare and maintain records of progress and services performed.
- Understand and ensure that regulatory compliance is met at all times within the building.
- Maintain workforce mental health and respond to staff needs in a caring and empathic manner.
- Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree or 60 completed credit hours in human service field from an accredited college or university plus three years’ experience in a child care role required
- Bachelor’s degree in human service field from an accredited college or university and one year experience in a child care role preferred.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience working within a supervisory role in a Residential Treatment Facility or other Mental Health/Behavioral health professional setting.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
- May require a valid state driver's in facilities where transporting patient is an essential function.
- Must be able to pass state and federal clearances required to work with youth in the state of PA.
