Electromyographic Technician (EMG Tech)
Southwoods Health is hiring and EMG to work at Southwoods Pain and Spine Center in Boardman, Ohio. Responsible for the delivery of EMG services that promote the safety and well-being of all patients. Requires open communication with all staff and a sound knowledge of methods used to measure electrical activity in peripheral nerves using electromyography instruments.
Essential Duties:
Southwoods Health is hiring and EMG to work at Southwoods Pain and Spine Center in Boardman, Ohio. Responsible for the delivery of EMG services that promote the safety and well-being of all patients. Requires open communication with all staff and a sound knowledge of methods used to measure electrical activity in peripheral nerves using electromyography instruments.
Essential Duties:
- Assemble necessary equipment, supplies and positioning aides for scheduled procedures.
- Test and monitor equipment for proper working condition.
- Explain procedures to patient in a way which they will understand in order to obtain cooperation and relieve anxieties during the test.
- Operate EMG instrument to record electrical activity on peripheral nerves according to established standards, policies and procedures.
- Accurately comprehend and interpret orders and direction from physician.
- Document study according to established standards in patient’s record.
- Communicate accurate information about the patient to those responsible for the patient’s ongoing care.
- Perform required maintenance of instrument, supplies and equipment by adhering to manufacturers IFU.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Electromyography Technologist certification from The American Association of Electro Diagnostic Technologists (preferred)
- AHA BLS certification
- 2 years’ experience as an EMG Technician (preferred)
- Prioritization and time management
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times
Full-time. Monday-Friday dayshift. No evenings or weekends.
