What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at Southworth International Group?
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer at our Manila, AR location with the following skills and abilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Customer Service Support including site visits to evaluate and resolve issues (<10%)
- Check orders as released from Design Engineering for accuracy and manufacturability
- Resolve manufacturing issues on the plant floor
- Conduct time & motion studies to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Determine tool and fixture needs for current and future production requirements
- Lead or participate in multiple projects; (New-Product Development, Continuous Improvement, Automation opportunities, etc.)
- Propose and manage capital projects, including gathering requirements, layouts, vendor management, timelines, and budget
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical field (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Working knowledge of CAD (Solidworks preferred)
- PLC programming experience is preferred
- Ability to efficiently troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems from schematics
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulic power systems and controls
- Working knowledge of welding and steel fabrication techniques
- Robotic welding/Automation experience is a bonus
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Must be able to perform and manage multiple tasks at once, able to work without direct supervision and willing to work flexible hours
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Travel required up to 10%
- Must be able to bend, twist, reach and grasp with fingers.
