Payroll Administrator
Souza Construction Inc., located in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA is currently hiring for a full-time Payroll Administrator / A/P Specialist.
Responsible for accurately processing weekly payroll. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, good organization skills, and the ability to work well independently, and well as part of a team. This person will report directly to the Controller/Office Manager, and will work with our construction team and accounting department to ensure proper and accurate processing of payroll and payroll taxes on a weekly basis.
Job Duties:
- Compute wages and deductions, and upload certified payroll data into LCP Tracker of DIR websites.
- Forward our certified payroll and subcontractors certified payroll to appropriate public agency.
- Scan all certified payroll for us and our subcontractors into our server and update master spreadsheet.
- Request certified payroll from subcontractors when needed.
- Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Back up payroll administrator when she is sick or on vacation.
- Provide information to employees and managers on certified payroll matters.
- Enter Accounts Payable invoices into Sage 300 Accounting and Real Estate including attaching the electronic invoice to the electronic AP invoice.
- Cross train on daily extra work billings.
- Other tasks on manager discretion not previously listed.Responsible for processing weekly Davis Bacon/Prevailing Wage Certified Payroll.
- Responsible for completing inquiries and verifications of employment/unemployment, as necessary.
Requirements:
Attention to detail, time management, and be highly communicative at all levels (verbal, written, etc)
High level of honesty and integrity in the confidentiality of all things related to payroll
High level of computer and calculator proficiency
Ability to multi-task, and work independently
Ability to be on-time, and have a high attendance rate
We use Everify to determint eligibility to work in the United States
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or higher
Certified payroll experience preferred; or payroll experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
