Job Title: Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
As a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health, you will provide patient-centered care by assessing and addressing the physical and psychological needs of patients. Your role involves implementing care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and educating patients to enhance their well-being.
Description:Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health - Days - 7a-7p
$20,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible
Key Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
Conducts initial physiological needs assessment on patients upon admission and shift psychosocial needs assessment during each shift.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education.
Prepares, administers, assesses, and documents the effectiveness of medication administration.
Evaluates patient response to all procedures and interventions carried out on a physical and psychological basis.
Assesses patient's psychological response to hospitalization and diagnosis each shift.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Qualifications:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association certification required.
