We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Employee Health Specialist. This is a full-time position responsible for developing and implementing employee health programs, conducting pre-employment and annual health screenings, and monitoring employees who become ill or injured on the job.
About the Position
The ideal candidate will have critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work guided by protocols under the direction of the Medical Director and RN Manager. You will also need to be able to work under stress, maintain emotional control, and demonstrate ethical and professional behavioral characteristics and attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement employee health programs to promote wellness and prevent illness
- Conduct pre-employment and annual health screenings for all employees
- Monitor employees who become ill or injured on the job and make referrals for further treatment when necessary
- Administer medications according to standing and/or written orders
- Document and maintain accurate and current employee health records
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Registered Nurse license from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State
- At least three years' experience in nursing, with a preference for experience in employee health or occupational health
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work guided by protocols
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association certification
