Summary of position:
The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for the preparation and accurate completion of mortgage loan documents prior to loan closing. This position obtains the necessary information and requirements for preparing loan documents and is responsible for assembling and verifying the accuracy of loan documentation, ensuring the loan requests meet all compliance and legal guidelines to ensure timely closing of the loan as well as preparing documents with proper, legal descriptions, closing dates and authorized signers.
Key job functions: (Includes current duties, primary objectives, and responsibilities which are critical to the successful performance of the position)
- Verifies and compiles information for loans.
- Assembles and verifies accuracy of loan documentation.
- Checks documents for proper legal descriptions, closing dates and authorized signers.
- Sets up and orders third party work (titles, appraisals, inspections, credit supplements, etc)
- Communicates with supervisor and underwriters in order to ensure loans submitted fit investor guidelines
- Notifies supervisor of missing or needed items in order to submit loan, submit completed loan files to underwriting
- Interfaces with funding/closing and escrow and title personnel in order to request loan documents and ensure timely closing of loans
- Clears all prior-to-funding conditions and notifies supervisor of any missing or corrected documents or of any outstanding conditions needed for closing
- Collects fees from customers and posts accordingly
- Process payments and escrow for Tribal Mortgage Loans
- Answers telephone inquiries and written inquiries concerning mortgage loan processing and requested information
- Completes quarterly regulatory training in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or related field, preferred.
- High School education or equivalent
- Previous experience in banking environment with one year in mortgage processing preferred

- Sitting, including computer use
- Driving with own transportation to other branches for meetings/workshops
- On occasions, may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Job responsibilities may include standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and crouching
