What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Operator position at Sovereign Pharmaceuticals,LLC?
The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for multi-craft activities in assigned area to ensure production equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and FDA requirements.
The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring fill equipment per SOP’s and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s). Must be knowledgeable of and practice cGMP techniques to minimize potential for product contamination and be mechanically proficient.
Responsibilities
- Complies with current SOP’s and cGMP’s.
- Reviews filling and packaging instructions at beginning of line runs. Ensures that the correct packaging materials are being issued to the line.
- Ensures that the correct Personal Protective Equipment is available, used properly and other safety procedures are understood and followed.
- Sets up and adjusts filling equipment settings to comply with training and instructions.
- Safely operates filling equipment, adjusts equipment to control count, closures, or other parameters as required by the specifications and troubleshoots problems to ensure process parameters are met throughout the production run.
- Completes and documents activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner in Instant GMP software on a laptop. This includes taking weights and performing basic quality compliance tests. Ensures results are correct and accurate and reports and non-compliance immediately to supervisor.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment and clean room area per SOP’s.
- Reconciles components and products according to SOP’s.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications
- 1-5 years pharmaceutical experience preferred; clean room experience strongly preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude required.
- Must Pass Drug Test and background check prior to Employment.
- Language: English Required (Read, Write, and Comprehend.)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Work authorization: United States (Required)
Shift
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30pm and may be extended (earlier or later) as well as weekend work may be required.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
