Key Responsibilities
- Operate paving machinery to apply asphalt on roads, parking lots, or other surfaces, ensuring consistent and smooth coverage.
- Rake and smooth asphalt to achieve the desired grade and finish in areas that require manual adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on paving equipment.
- Assist the crew with tasks such as setting up traffic control and preparing the worksite for paving operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and guidelines, including OSHA standards.
- Communicate effectively with the paving crew and supervisor to complete projects efficiently and to specification.
- Monitor the quality and compaction of the asphalt to ensure long-lasting results.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in asphalt paving and/or raking operations.
- Knowledge of paving industry standards, equipment, and materials.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stooping, kneeling, and prolonged standing in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not required).
