Summary Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable DISA Operator to join our team in the foundry department. As a DISA Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the DISA molding machine, which is critical in the production of high-quality metal castings. You will ensure efficient operation of the machine while adhering to safety standards, production schedules, and quality control procedures.
PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Essential Functions:
Set up and operate DISA molding machine to produce sand molds for metal castings.
Monitor the molding process to ensure molds meet specified quality standards. Inspect molds for defects and adjust machine settings as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance on the DISA machine, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Report any malfunctions or major issues to maintenance staff.
Continuously monitor and adjust machine settings to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve mold quality.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe machine operation practices.
Track and document production rates, downtime, and any issues during the molding process. Maintain accurate logs for quality control and production tracking.
Work closely with other team members, including molders, metal pourers, and quality control inspectors, to ensure smooth production flow and meet production targets.
Identify and resolve any issues with the machine or molding process, including addressing material inconsistencies and machine malfunctions.
Skills or Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in machine operation is a plus).
Prior experience operating DISA or similar molding machines in a foundry or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor machine repairs.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
Other Position Demands or Requirements:
Foundry or manufacturing plant, with exposure to high temperatures, loud noise, and heavy machinery.
Regular shift work, including potential overtime as required by production schedules.
Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
