SP Health Clinic is looking for a Medical Assistant and Front Desk Receptionist who can work independently with a strong ability to lead the clinic, has great patience and customer service to answer questions as needed, someone with a clinic background, and a great work attitude.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO APPLICANT: We are a clinic specifically for students of Hawaii Pacific University and are closed during the time school is on breaks such as Winter and Summer breaks. This position is perfect for those who have kid(s) in school, those who do online classes, and prefer a shorter schedule (this position is M-F from 9am to 3pm, no weekends).
***TRAINING for this position will begin beginning to mid-late February 2025 with a start date of March 19, 2025***
Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Check in and register patients
- Money handling as needed
- Answer phones and questions
- All functions of a medical assistant, such as comfort with clinical skills including obtaining vitals, using electronic medical records, administering skin PPD testing, administering vaccines, etc.
- Assist in inventory of office supplies and communicate to the manager when re-order necessary
- Review charts, lab test results, and encounter forms for completeness and to assess follow-up as needed and directed.
- Perform other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned.
- Work 1-on-1 with the Medical Provider to aide and support in visits
- Assists with daily and monthly quality assurance reviews including emergency kit check-off.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; completion of an accredited medical assistant certification program preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to have patience
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- A firm grasp of medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Reliable transportation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week
