Job Title: Registered Nurse- ER - PRN - Night shift
Exemption status: Non- Exempt
Position Summary:
We are looking for highly organized, compassionate candidates to work as ER nurse. ER nurses are the first line of defense when responding to patient injuries, trauma or allergic reactions. They are always prepared to respond to emergencies, assist doctors in emergency medical care, and ensure a high quality of nursing standards are maintained, among other duties.
Essential Function:
- Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
- Consistently completes meets documentation expectations in facility electronic medical record.
- Formulates a goal directed plan of care, which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
- Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled consistent manner in reaching the desired patient outcomes through nursing processes.
- Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available center resources of time, personnel, equipment and supplies.
- Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.
- Quickly recognizes life and/or limb threatening conditions and responds appropriately.
- Demonstrates applied knowledge base in areas of emergency patient care, pain assessment, actions of emergency medications, sedatives, and local anesthetics, laboratory values, safety and legal issues and all emergency equipment.
- Knowledgeable about and compliant with regulatory requirements, particularly EMTALA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Degree from accredited nursing program.
- Licensure as registered nurse in Texas.
- Minimum of three years' work experience as an Emergency Room nurse at an acute care or rural hospital.
ACLS, BLS and PALS – current at time of hire
