Job Title: Maintenance Worker
Location: Comfort Inn & Suites, Hermiston, OR
Reports To: Assistant General Manager

Job Overview:
The Comfort Inn & Suites in Hermiston is seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the property is well-maintained and provides an excellent guest experience by handling various repair and maintenance tasks throughout the hotel. You will work directly with the maintenance team to uphold a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on the hotel premises, including guest rooms, public spaces, and exterior areas.
• Conduct routine inspections of all hotel systems, equipment, and appliances to ensure they are operating properly.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, including fixing plumbing issues, electrical problems, HVAC malfunctions, and general repairs.
• Assist in maintaining the hotel's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Handle painting, light carpentry, drywall repairs, and other general repair tasks.
• Ensure that all hotel equipment and systems are in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Maintain and repair building fixtures and furniture as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to avoid potential issues or damage.
• Keep maintenance storage areas clean, organized, and properly stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
• Work with vendors or contractors for specialized repairs and inspections.
• Assist in preparing rooms for inspections by hotel brands and local health or safety authorities.
• Report any major repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or management team.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting politely and professionally with hotel guests when needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Knowledge of general maintenance techniques and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and guests.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for off-site tasks.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects throughout the shift.
• Work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to extreme temperatures or weather.
• Occasional on-call duties for emergency repairs.
• Safety equipment and training will be provided as needed.
