Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vascular Cath Lab Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting physicians during vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. They will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the cath lab, maintain a sterile environment, and provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the cath lab for vascular procedures, including equipment setup and sterilization.
- Assist physicians during vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, and thrombectomy.
- Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and angiography systems, to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
- Administer contrast media under the direction of the physician and follow radiation safety protocols.
- Perform pre- and post-procedure patient care, including patient positioning, preparation, and recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of procedures, equipment usage, and patient information.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals.
- Adhere to infection control and quality assurance protocols, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology/Vascular Technology/related field.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT).
- Valid state license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- 5 of experience in a cath lab or interventional radiology setting preferred.
- Proficiency in operating vascular imaging systems and other cath lab equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and vascular interventional techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced clinical setting.
- May require standing for extended periods, wearing lead aprons, and exposure to radiation.
