Software Engineer

Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a Parsons company, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Software Engineer to join our innovative team on a full-time basis. Our team provides software development and testing for embedded systems, specifically supporting our customer, the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications tailored to the needs of embedded systems, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
• Work closely with a small, agile team to deliver software solutions, engage in code reviews, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
• Develop and execute comprehensive testing protocols to validate software performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to maintain high standards.
• Produce and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation to support ongoing and future development projects.
• Develop and maintain SDKs in various programming languages to support a wide range of applications.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating innovative approaches to enhance system capabilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain an active SECRET clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering) and a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience.
• 1-5 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, GoLang, Java, and C/C .
• Demonstrated experience with C design and development, particularly on a Linux platform.
• Familiarity with NATs.io, Protobuf, Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Kubernetes, Microservices, and Web development.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience creating, integrating, and documenting APIs.
• Experience integrating open-source and proprietary software libraries.
• Experience designing, developing, and debugging performance-critical, multi-threaded software.
• Experience designing, developing, debugging, and implementing complex, software systems a variety of languages.
• Understanding of networking technology, TCP/IP, and common internet application protocols.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
