Job Overview
The Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership for strategic and product development efforts. They will also lead cross functional teams of engineers in the design, development, implementation, testing, and analysis of our Avionics, GPS Tracking, Autonomous Flight Termination System and Li-Ion Intelli-Pack Battery products. As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for technical execution of program requirements and manage program schedule and budget for engineering. Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership for engineering development, test, and producibility for all products
- Plans and sets targets for milestones and adheres to deadlines to ensure SDRLs are completed on time and within budget
- Responsible for internal and external design review criteria, leads internal and external design reviews, and approves action item closures
- Reviews and approves all engineering contract deliverables (SDRLs, CDRLs, SSOWs, etc.)
- Interfaces with customers as the technical Point of Contact (PoC) for all program and proposal activities. Interfaces and serves as technical PoC for subcontractors and key suppliers
- Ensures all technical requirements are met and the systems meet all validation and verification criteria
- Promotes technical competency within engineering teams and enforces adherence to policies and procedures; develops new engineering policies and procedures as necessary
- Supports proposal team and provides technical solutions, development plans, technical write-ups, cost and schedule estimates with documentation
- Coordinates program engineering needs, requirements, and status effectively with management to ensure the technical teams are fully staffed according to the program’s resource plan
Requirements
- Provide successful technical leadership of technology development program(s) and leading an engineering team
- Ability to write proposal technical volume
- Understanding of software architectures, real-time embedded software implementation, and productization of software development
- Experience working in platform integration for advanced electronics
- Experience working in system architecture development
- Experience with RF devices and antennas
- Experience in requirements development, flow down, and traceability for complex electronic systems
- Experience leading in trade studies on complex electronic sub-system/system issues and components
- Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Manufacturability development experience
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DoD development programs
- Experience with GPS tracking, Avionics, Autonomous Flight Termination Systems, Satellite Communication and Lithium-Ion battery systems requirements development, analysis, design, integration, verification, and test
- Experience analyzing real data (either captive flight or free flight) from multi-function sensors
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.Department of State.
