Position title: Information Systems Technician
Reports to: Network Administrator
Summary:
The Information Systems Technician requires an in-depth understanding of hardware, peripherals, devices, and software applications to independently install, maintain, and trouble- shoot hardware/software and resolve the majority of user and system problems. Performs both onsite and remote technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, configure network hardware including (but not limited to): switches, firewalls, network monitoring hardware and software and other network related infrastructure
- Configure and maintain Active Directory (AD) through Azure and on-premise
- Implement network and user profile group policies on Windows server and Office 365
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations and related peripherals, applying updates and patches to ensure security standards are met
- Install desktop operating systems and related software
- Configure and maintain user connectivity using VPN network access
- Provide staff technical training and documentation as necessary
- Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance of system servers, and operating systems
- Ensure optimal network performance through continual monitoring and testing of the networks
- Provide support as necessary with an enthusiastic attitude to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to user’s satisfaction
- Monitor and validate server and workstation backups regularly
- Oversight of junior team members
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of experience maintaining network infrastructures

- Ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical concepts in writing and verbally
- Strong aptitude for documentation of policies and procedures
- Excellent critical thinking, attention to details, numerical skills, team working skills and problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic
- Strong organizational, communications, leadership, and interpersonal skills٫ together with a results-driven approach
- Ability to work and thrive independently
Preferred Skills
- Preference given for ESXI/VM, Linux, VOIP systems experience
- Computer system design, data processing, hosting and related services
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, etc.)
Desired Skills
- Current working knowledge of NIST 800-171 and CMMC Compliance
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- Related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA A certification
- CompTIA Network certification
- Microsoft certifications
- A and Linux Certification
ITAR Requirements
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR§120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
- Must use personal mobile device for multi-factor authentication (MFA) for system access. This authenticates your identity.
- Must be willing to use personal mobile device for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams apps, in exchange for a mobile device stipend.
