You will evaluate new missions for their ability to work in concert with other prototype missions to protect and defend the Nation's high value on-orbit assets, assess their impact on operations center resources, and plan for and assess completion of prototype testing and mission objectives. This job will develop your knowledge of our 15 diverse classified missions, grow your professional network with our 10 mission partners, and give you experience with the mission ground systems. We need your expertise to usher our ops center into the future as we deliver strategically important technological advancements and great power competition conflict deterrence!Ideal Candidate : - Minimum : a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)-related undergraduate degree. Ideally : a STEM-related master's degree.- APDP Engineering Practitioner level certification.- Experience working as a satellite operator at a government or contractor satellite operations center.- General knowledge of satellites and their respective ground systems, cloud computing, and networking.- Familiarity with cloud computing, networking, the Satellite Control Network (SCN), Commercial Augmentation Services (CAS), and ground Telemetry, Tracking & Control (TT&C) systems.Daily requirements : - Provide technical vision, support, and advice to the Branch Chief regarding existing satellite missions, potential future missions, and related ground systems.- Work with the branch's Flight Directors, mission partners, and contractors to ensure accomplishment of individual and integrated mission objectives and contribute to anomaly resolution as appropriate.- Ensure satellite operations equities (concept of operations, requirements, etc.) are appropriately accounted for during the mission partner development process through participation in or leadership of technical reviews.- Contribute content to mission partner Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and Agreement (MOAs) and collaborate with mission partners to ensure mutual MOU and MOA compliance.- Work with the organization's Technical Director and other organizational branches to ensure cohesion of the unit's technical roadmap with the organization's broader technical roadmap.Key Skills and Abilities : 1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods, and to plan and execute specialized programs of marked difficulty, responsibility, and significance.2. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and / or influence systems acquisition, development, and / or sustainment, and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditure of funds.3. Knowledge of and skill in evaluating state-of-the-art and advancements in theory, application, technology, concepts, and policy affecting systems being developed, and in planning, organizing, and directing the functions and staff in critical aspects of development, production, and / or support of systems of systems, systems, subsystems, or equipment.4. Knowledge of Research, Development, Test & Evaluation Support Complex (RSC) capabilities and the capabilities of supporting technologies including the Satellite Control Network (SCN), Commercial Augmentation Services (CAS), mission partner capabilities, and appropriate ground Telemetry, Tracking & Control (TT&C) systems.5. Knowledge of policies, regulations, operating instructions, processes, procedures, and other direction / guidance as pertains to complex mission systems and satellite command and control to include both ground and space technologies.6. Skilled in leading teams made up of government, contractor, and technical advisement support using an agile program / project management approach and use of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products, at a minimum Outlook, Excel, Planner, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams.7. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and diplomacy in various settings including meetings, briefings, and written communication with a variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the organization.Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen.Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and / or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position.This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.Must be available to participate in Government mandated and / or required training to achieve / maintain proficiency.May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft within CONUS or to downrange sites in the performance of Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY).This position is on-site and eligible for situational telework, 2-4 days per pay period. Employee must reside within commuting distance of worksite. Schedule and percentage will be determined by leadership, employee, and the situation.PCS / Relocation is available.Incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned.Resumes are to be limited to no more than 5 pages.
