SSI is seeking a Ground Software Lead (PWSA) to support our customer in Chantilly, VA.

SSI is seeking a Ground Software Lead (PWSA) to support our customer in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities include:
- Works with development teams at the messaging and system function level to ensure all equities of design are in working order and translate to inform testing and checkout for promotion through DevSecOps
- Provides expertise across the entire systems engineering cycle and is knowledgeable on all Tranche system components from an architecture and technical level
- Review engineering documents and provide SME support
- Participate in milestones to include, but not limited to: System Requirements Review, Preliminary Design Review, and Critical Design Review activities and provide subject matter expertise
- Applies problem solving skills to identify and respond to system gaps proactively
- Maintains active awareness of baseline requirements, interfaces, and integration touchpoints to ensure the system progresses through all milestones and the Tranches achieve operations, transition, and system closure
- Ensure ground segment designs and implementation meet system requirements
- Ensure ground segment designs and deliverables are tested against planned testing procedures
- Evaluate and participate in integration testing across levels of the ground segment
- Support the SDA’s Ground Segment Program Management and Tranche-specific Systems Engineering teams
- Work with development team engineers to support integration of both software and hardware-in-the-loop development, test, and operational environments
- Participate in anomaly resolution activities
- Contribute to the development of systems- and mission-level modeling and simulation tools
- Contribute to the execution of modeling and simulation activities
- Collaborate with other teams by actively participating in cross-functional communication to ensure that all teams integrate system requirements throughout program lifecycles
- Work closely with the development team(s) to clarify requirements, provide feedback on code quality, and ensure defect identification and resolution occurs on time
- Assess the ground segment software impacts of new hardware, CONOPS, and missions
- Supporting requirements management and analysis, interface management, architecture development and test and evaluation processes
- Collect, analyze, and incorporate feedback from end-users, stakeholders, and internal SDA team on product/project/program strategies and identify the best path(s) to improve efficiencies and shape processes
- Support application product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams (i.e., Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry)
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with satellite and/or ground systems.
- Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction.
- Strong experience in requirements development and tracking.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD and DevSecOps processes.
- Agile framework familiarity.
- Authored user stories for test cases and scenarios based on development requirements, user feedback, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- TS/SCI clearance required (ability to obtain/maintain.)
- Master’s degree in STEM or related discipline.

- Specific expertise and experience in satellite and ground software and/or hardware testing and evaluation and QA protocols.
- Agile framework experience using Jira/Confluence.
- Experience DoD and/or IC customers.
- Recent experience with space systems.
