SSI is seeking a Principal Budget Analyst for a role in Colorado Springs, CO.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain organizational financial databases.
· Coordinate financial issues, tasks, and requests for senior leader decisions and information briefings.
· Record program commitments, obligations, and expenditures in accordance with DoD benchmarks and provide quarterly reports.
· Assist the Business Financial Manager in managing contract actions.
· Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
· Coordinate and attend financial management meetings, training sessions, database briefings, and software changes or updates.
· Participate in budget queries.
· Prepare financial status reports.
· Perform budget execution and administration work involving monitoring current year and prior year obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of budgets.
· Perform budget formulation work involving the preparation of detailed analyses and estimates of funding needs for one or more budget years.
\n- Bachelor's and 9 years or more of related experience within financial management of major programs or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), be adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
- Experience in the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and the DoD Planning, Programming, and Budgeting Systems (PPBS).
- Knowledge of Program Objective Memorandum (POM), Future Year Defense Plan (FYDP) Defense Guidance, and Joint Strategic Planning Systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of commonly used budgetary methods, practices, procedures, regulations, policies, and processes.
- Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing factual information, such as in accounting reports, payroll records, work reports, or inventory and supply data.
- Advanced skills with MS Office tools particularly MS Excel.
- Travel is 10% of the time.
- Master’s degree in business management, technical management, and/or engineering.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMI PMP).
- Experience in the National Security Space and, or the Space Control mission area.
SSI has a target salary range: $120,000 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
