CMM PROGRAMMER, SENIOR QUALITY INSPECTOR - C SHIFT
Based out of Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, CA , the CMM Programmer, Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that hardware received and produced in the Rocket Lab Long Beach facility conforms to engineering requirements through efficient and effective detection methods. In this role you will help prevent faulty hardware from progressing in the manufacturing process and support root cause mitigation and elimination of failure modes. You will support the Quality Manager and Production organization, with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO :
- Perform complex mechanical inspections for spacecraft assemblies and some purchased parts, 3D-printed components, large structures, CNC-machined items, electro-mechanical components, and solar panels
- Perform all types of precision inspections including receiving, in process and final assembly. This includes capability to effectively use hand measurement systems, optical comparator, microscope, Romer arm and Laser tracker
- Thoroughly document non-conformances in accordance with Rocket Lab systems and procedures in our internal ERP, MES and Issue tracking system
- Collaborate with engineering and management to improve work instructions and identify critical inspection points in the process
- Embody a Built in Quality philosophy, consistently detecting non-conformances (Don’t accept a Defect – Don’t Pass a Defect) and preventing escapes to downstream customers

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations : job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
