About Us:
We are a small, dynamic flight school dedicated to training the next generation of aviators. As our school continues to grow, we’re seeking a skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to oversee financial operations, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the flight school’s financial records with accuracy and professionalism.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, including tracking expenses, revenue, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and file all required tax forms, including weekly, quarterly, and annual tax filings (e.g., payroll taxes, sales tax, 1099s, W-2s, and other federal, state, and local tax obligations).
- Monitor and ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
- Advise management on tax strategies and financial planning to maximize efficiency and minimize liabilities.
- Liaise with external auditors and government agencies when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CPA license required.
- Proven experience with tax preparation and compliance, including payroll and sales tax filings.
- Expertise in bookkeeping and bank statement reconciliation.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (required).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Flexible, part-time schedule (5-20 hours/week, depending on needs).
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
