Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to join our team at SpaceX, where we are pushing the boundaries of space technology.
As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day tactical recommendations to support growth targets and daily execution with excellence and precision.
Your primary objective will be to develop and track key performance metrics, identify decision points and actions to optimize production and engineering to meet launch targets.
You will effectively integrate, organize, standardize and relate operational data using SQL, Power Automate, Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
Additionally, you will turn data into insights, create reports and alerts using automated procedures for operational measurement and improvement to support decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Analyze and resolve complex operational issues.
- Provide expert-level guidance on operational best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or mathematics.
- 5 years of experience as an operations, process, manufacturing or industrial engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Python/R and/or Excel for analysis or modeling.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 2 years of experience using SQL and/or Python in business analysis, data visualization, product management, applications/software development or ERP systems support.
- Experience in information management and workflow solutions such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Data engineering skills: working with databases, organizing, relating, preparing and storing data.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel to other launch sites in support of operational activities and launches.
- Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.
- Must be willing to work weekends and night shifts as necessary to meet business needs.
