What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Graphic Designer (Packaging) position at SpaLife Beauty?
SpaLife is looking for a Jr. Packaging Designer with solid design capabilities to help elevate and execute our evolving brand story. In this role, you’ll collaborate with our dynamic design team to create a variety of on-brand and innovative product packaging concepts and marketing assets.
To be successful, you should have a keen eye for detail, love tracking and staying up-to-date-on packaging trends, and will be comfortable creating high-volume packaging designs in a fast-paced setting, from initial conceptualization to final delivery.
This role reports to the VP of Sales & Creative and is located at our Edison, NJ office. (This is not a remote opportunity). To be considered, please share samples of your proven work as a packaging designer along with your application.
What you’ll do:
- Design a high volume of creative, including but not limited to: original packaging design, PDQs, pitch decks, & other brand collateral
- Collaborate cross-functionally with fellow designers, copywriters, and marketing to continuously develop and elevate SpaLife’s visual brand story
- Prepare production files & efficiently communicate with overseas factories
- Ensure brand image is consistent across all product formats and adheres to brand style guide
- Stay informed on consumer habits within the beauty space and apply conversion-driven design to meet the unique needs of the individual buyers we work with
- Prepare mockups for sales presentations as needed
What we’re looking for:
- 1-2 years of professional packaging design experience (to be considered, please provide a portfolio demonstrating relevant experience!)
- Previous experience in CPG within the health & beauty industry is strongly preferred
- Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign are a must, knowledge of other Adobe creative suite programs are a plus
- Must be comfortable working with dielines, preparing production files, & communicating with overseas factories
- Project and time-management skills: ability to create and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Mockup and photo-retouching skills: bonus points if you can sketch and illustrate!
- Experience with typography
- A team player who thrives on creative collaboration, with excellent communication & organizational skills
- A natural creativity and ability to think outside the box!
Salary : $40,000 - $45,000
