OVERVIEW: The Product development coordinator is responsible for Savaria’s patient handling product/service support throughout the product/service lifecycle. This includes responding to customer needs, identifying, and monitoring market changes and company financial imperatives. The role also includes the identification and gathering of product and customer needs, setting product vision, and working closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Quality. The Product development coordinator will be required to support cross function product and service development projects under the responsibility of the Director of Product Development of the overall products portfolio from development and launch to product care and discontinuations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Director for the definition and optimization of the Bed Frame and Mattress pipeline and product portfolio for the products and services developed in Patient Handling in North America
- Support the Engineering Change Committee for North America and make sure the appropriate priorities are applied to the Engineering Change Requests
- Develop knowledge of the Patient Handling market in North America, market needs, trends, competitive information, geographic differences in the business
- Act as team support in selected cross functional product and services development projects
- Act as to support binding elements between commercial functions (sales, marketing) and the Product Design and Development (R&D) function
- Work with the director to support sales leaders in developing and implementing advanced training programs corporate customers and internal staff.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; and 5 to 7 years of product management experience in medical devices, preferably from a related area of Medical Bed and mattresses to Safe Patient Handling
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
- PMP Certification preferred but not required.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
TRAVEL:
- This position may travel up to 25% of the time. Travel included both domestic and international.
