OVERVIEW: The Senior Accountant has a wide-ranging scope that will require the successful candidate to be comfortable dealing with multiple aspects of financial control and direction with a growing manufacturing, installation and service organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Prepare month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Analyze vendor accounts in effort to control the DPO metric
- Manage the companies IFRS 16 compliance
- Provide customer and product margin analysis as part of the month-end close process
- Ensure that corporate wide accounting policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Ensure that internal controls systems and processes are best practice, effective, documented and operating as designed
- Supports budget and forecasting activities
- Coordinate and manage the capital expenditure process for the division
- Interact with external auditors as needed
- Oversee maintenance and the integrity of financial systems used to support the business function
- Additional duties as requested or required by management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
COMPETENCIES:- Must have working knowledge of IFRS
- Experience with Canadian taxes a plus
- Ability to advise and assist Controller in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities to build a strong finance team that works closely with operations
- Ability to manage financial control and be capable of managing dual reporting relationships
- Understands business implications of decisions

- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. - Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university in accounting, finance or business and 5 to 7 years of related experience in the manufacturing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Proficiency in an ERP Accounting system, such as Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
- The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift and or move up to 25 lbs.
