Job Description:
- Design and develop electromechanical Human-Machine Interface (HMI) components for automotive interiors.
- Integrate and package high-end displays, haptic switches, and sensors within the vehicle cabin environment.
- Lead the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through production.
- Define product specifications, requirements, and validation plans to ensure reliability and robustness.
- Design and manufacture prototypes and testing fixtures for measuring, experimenting, and conducting user studies on switches and electronic interfaces.
- Collaborate with suppliers to release designs and initiate tooling, checking fixtures, assembly fixtures, and end-of-line testers to meet project timelines.
- Work closely with the design studio and cross-functional engineering teams in areas such as mechanical, electrical, controls, integration, diagnostics, cybersecurity, user experience, durability, craftsmanship, and ergonomics
- Support production ramp-up and assist in troubleshooting field issues.
Requirements:

- Expertise in defining haptic feedback, conducting focus group assessments, and shaping tactile user experience discussions in an automotive setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration in vehicle architecture, with a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals in mechanics, electronics, and material selection.
- Hands-on experience with sensor selection, integration, connector selection, wiring harnesses, and control systems.
- Proven ability to define performance metrics such as resolution, accuracy, noise levels, and durability, along with developing validation plans.
- Knowledge of LIN and CAN communication protocols and ability to define system architecture for implementing user interaction models.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, GD&T, and engineering drawing releases using PLM systems.
- Familiarity with SMT and PCB fabrication processes in mass production.
- Technical expertise in manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, casting, and extrusion.
- Education: Minimum B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Master’s degree preferred
