As the oldest and largest Hispanic human services agency in Ohio, SAC provides comprehensive support through four core service programs, offering family support, social services, employment assistance, adult education, financial literacy, and housing counseling to thousands of individuals each year.
About the Intake Specialist
Reporting to the COO, the Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring individuals and families receive the support and services they need. As the first point of contact for clients seeking assistance, the Intake Specialist conducts initial assessments, gathers relevant information, and connects clients with appropriate resources within the agency or community. This position is essential in fostering a supportive and efficient intake process within the social service agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one intake assessments with new clients to assess client needs, eligibility, and service options.
- Accurately collect and document personal, financial, and situational information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Refer clients to appropriate departments as identified throughout the intake process and schedule client appointments across SAC’s programs.
- Ensure timely and complete documentation of intakes in the electronic client record system, following agency guidelines.
- Manage follow-up calls to new clients within one business day of their initial contact.
- Prepare and submit program reports as required.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while demonstrating a commitment to workplace safety.
- Provide backup coverage for the receptionist during breaks, lunch, or absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree in social work or related field (preferred) or High School Diploma with a minimum of 1 year work experience in social services, social work, or humanities
- Experience with client management systems (e.g., Salesforce, CounselorMax) is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for prolonged data entry.

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, on-site position in a standard office environment in Cleveland, OH.
