What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Ministry Summer Intern position at Spanish River Church?
The Spanish River Church Student Ministry is providing a summer internship program as an advanced level of discipleship through the development and implementation of an intensive summer ministry to middle school students. This internship seeks to broaden and deepen the intern’s understanding of his/her relationship with Jesus Christ, the church body, and the ministry of the gospel. The intern’s growth will be accomplished through training and hands- on experiences in all areas of ministry.
General Responsibilities:
The Summer Intern is responsible for assisting the Student Ministry staff in advancing SRC Students summer impact on students, parents, the church body and the surrounding community. The primary objective of the intern is to be personally involved in the holistic discipleship of students and their families into a growing and joyful relationship with Jesus Christ anchored in His grace with a passion for His kingdom and glory.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Practical Ministry:
a. Gain a thorough understanding of our ministry philosophy (vision, mission, and strategy)
b. Ministry development and implementation of our entire summer program (Campus Night, LifeGroups, offsite activities, and camp)
c. Participate in weekly evaluation of our ministry and develop improvement strategy
2. Personal Spiritual Development:
a. Daily pursuing their relationship with God through the means of grace

2. Personal Spiritual Development:
a. Daily pursuing their relationship with God through the means of grace
Organizational Relationships:
- Directly responsible to the Student Ministry staff for daily duties and responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibility, office management, and policy of the Executive Pastor
- Under the authority of the SRC Board of Elders, and their vision, ministry strategy, and policy
- Acting in accordance with the Student Ministry Leadership Guideline for Conduct and the Spanish River Church Employee Handbook
- Maintenance of spiritual character consistent with biblical standards for those in ministry leadership
- Participation and support in corporate worship and church-wide functions when appropriate
- Each intern will be compensated $15/hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week for 10 weeks.
- Summer Intern ministry expenses must be approved by the Student Ministry staff and reimbursed from the appropriate Student Ministry account.
