Job Description:
We are looking for a Controls Technician that will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all aspects of plant automation. This position is accountable for the continuous development of electrical equipment, controls, automation, components and systems as assigned.
Accountabilities:
- Maintain PLC, PanelView, Robots and Servo drive controls, program upgrades and back-ups
Prepare and maintain all required documentation on equipment (PLC, PanelView, Robots and Servo drives) - Required to assist Maintenance team with the repair of other production equipment and facility.
- Assist Quality & Engineers as needed4Troubleshoot machinery and equipment4Works to eliminate downtime.
- Identifies and eliminates sources of downtime and extraneous variation through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures with Engineering Teams
- Assist with PLC and Electronics training requirements for employees and deliver required training
- Interact with Production, Maintenance, Quality and Engineering department personnel
- Lead and advise to co-workers and help maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Best Practices and Job Safe Practices to ensure the transfer of knowledge to others
- Assist with continual improvement of manufacturing processes
- Assist with planning and implementation of changes to machinery and equipment
- Provide PLC controls and programming knowledge and skills to support all aspects of operations
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
Skills, Requirements, and Personal Traits:
- 3 years working within the manufacturing industry (automotive preferred)
- Experience in PLC’s and troubleshooting & diagnostics (Allen Bradley)
- Electronics/electrical troubleshooting abilities required
- Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Education: Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree is a plus
- Advanced AutoCAD & Solid Works CAD software experience is a plus
