What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Play and Learning Consultant position at Sparkler Learning?
Sparkler Learning is seeking a motivated and community-driven San Francisco Consultant to support the development and rollout of the Sparkler mobile app and initiatives around play and learning. One key initiative is Let’s Play, SF!, a city-wide campaign that encourages on-the-go play between parents/caregivers and their children to support early development. This role will involve project management, partnership development, and training families and providers on Sparkler’s digital tools to promote equitable access to early learning resources.
The ideal candidate will have experience in education, child development, social work, or a related field, and a strong ability to engage with community organizations, schools, and healthcare providers. This role requires someone who is organized, collaborative, and passionate about early childhood learning and family engagement.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree (or current enrollment in a Master’s program) in education, child development, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Community & Partnership Experience: Experience working with schools, community organizations, or healthcare providers to promote early learning initiatives.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively engage with partners, train diverse audiences, and communicate Sparkler’s mission clearly.
- Project Management Skills: Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Commitment to Access & Early Learning: Passion for supporting broad and equitable access to early childhood resources and working with different communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Implementation: Oversee the development and distribution of Let’s Play, SF! Campaign materials by working with graphic designers and coordinating installation in schools, child care centers, cultural institutions, and community organizations.
- Training & Support: Provide hands-on training to families and service providers on how to use Sparkler’s mobile app and dashboard to support early childhood development.
- Community Engagement: Develop and strengthen relationships with local education, healthcare, and family service organizations to promote developmental screening and play-based learning.
- Project Management: Collaborate with Sparkler’s internal team to coordinate the logistics of campaign rollouts, including timelines, material distribution, and partner communications.
- Budget Maintenance: Track and manage campaign-related expenses to ensure efficient use of resources.
Time Commitment:This role requires approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility based on project needs.
