What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tasting Room Wine Educator / Server position at Sparkman Cellars?
Sparkman Cellars is a family-owned winery founded in 2004 located in our new winery and tasting room in the Old Redhook Brewery Woodinville, Washington. We have received numerous national accolades including Wine & Spirits's Top 100 Winery in the World and Wine Spectator's#21 Wine in the World.
We’re looking for outgoing, detail-oriented team members as a Tasting Room Wine Educator / Server. Prior experience at a winery/tasting room, restaurant or other hospitality related business is an asset. We offer elevated, seated guest experiences similar to higher end restaurant service. If you have hospitality experience in a fast-paced atmosphere and are tired of working holidays and late nights, this position may be a perfect fit for you.
A successful applicant is professional, outgoing, positive, dependable, self-motivated, flexible, able to multi-task, a team player, with a strong work ethic, excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and is comfortable with POS program applications and technology in general.
Although not required, schedule flexibility is extremely helpful. Additional details are listed below.
- This position is for Sundays. Please only apply if you are available to work this day consistently. Also, there is the potential for occasional additional days, including some evenings, if agreeable.
- $16.28 per hour plus tips (which average $10-14 per hour), incentives and wine discounts

- Principal duties of a Tasting Room Server are to provide wine tastings, education and a memorable experience for our guests
Additional duties are, but not limited to, the following
- Build relationships with our guests and wine club members via table service
- Help execute winery events and promotions
- General tasting room opening, closing and side-work duties
- General tasting room maintenance and upkeep
- Restocking
- Assist the Tasting Room Manager and Sparkman team as needed
Must be in good physical condition, able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift 50 lbs. (frequent heavy lifting is required). Also, must be 21 years old and obtain a valid Class 12 pourers license within 30 days of starting.
