We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Benefits Specialist for a contract position, fully on-site in Hampton, Virginia. This role is crucial to the administration and management of employee benefits programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations.
Responsibilities:
- Administer daily benefit processing, including enrollments, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, medical, dental, life, accident, disability, retirement plans, and other related benefits.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including ACA, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams for reporting requirements.
- Develop, promote, and plan wellness and fitness programs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on benefits administration systems, processing enrollments, changes, and terminations. Maintain system data and ensure compatibility with other systems.
- Manage open enrollment processes.
- Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding benefits via phone and email.
- Communicate new and updated benefit plans to employees through various channels, including presentations and written materials.
- Conduct benefit orientations and provide ongoing support and counseling to employees.
- Resolve employee benefit-related complaints and escalate issues as needed.
- Liaise with insurance carriers and build strong relationships with client representatives.
- Administer COBRA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and other related regulations.
- Maintain accurate benefit records and generate reports as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to support audits and reviews.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems, specifically Workday, is required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
