Entry Level Baker
Hello! Sparrow Bakery in Bend seeks to hire a long-term Production Baker for Full Time (4 days/week) or Part Time (2-3 days/week) work. We welcome candidates with food service or baking experience, but also encourage those without experience to apply as this is an Entry Level position. We are searching for a committed industry professional who is ready to embark on a serious career in baking.
Production Bakers work collaboratively with a team on various aspects of our bread baking program, including but not limited to shaping and/or laminating dough, baking brioche products and English muffins, and packing/labeling products for retail and wholesale delivery. They will typically have the support of a more senior baker, who will guide them through the shift and provide additional training as needed. At Sparrow Bakery, we prioritize teamwork and encourage our Production Bakers to share ideas and collaborate on projects. Pay depends upon relevant experience:
- $15-17/hour for no or limited experience
- $17-18/hour for 1-2 years relevant professional baking experience.
- $18.50 - $19/hour for a minimum of 3-4 years relevant professional baking experience.
Sparrow is an employee-centered company. We offer a 50/50 health insurance plan for any full-time individual after 60 days, sick pay, and the option to contribute to our 401K plan. Paid Time Off accrues in the first year of employment and can be used starting the second. Full-time at Sparrow Bakery is four days a week with three regular days off to rest and enjoy Central Oregon.
